AN EARLY MORNING

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. LAMENTATIONS 3:22-32

While I once frequented the early hours of the morning, since marrying a man who loves the later hours of the day, I have become one who sleeps through the sunrise of most days. Except today. Life has a funny way of causing you to dwell on in/significant things when you’d rather be sleeping, showering or cleaning the house.

We packed up our apartment in the city and moved to the country 5 months ago (that doesn’t really seem that long ago), Dave was ready to plan some country roads, and I was inspired to start the journey to become an art teacher. We started this year believing that this would be a good change for us, but couldn’t have fathomed the goodness that was ahead of us. A bigger house of the fringe of a beautiful landscape, softened our hearts quickly, but it was only the beginning of our amazing friendship with our little town.

The people we have met and the lifestyle we have shared has opened my eyes to enjoy some of life’s precious moments that I know I’ve been missing. As I hang out our washing I take a deep breath and breathe in the cool winter’s air, knowing joyful little moments build together a wonderful day. And as we cook meals to share with our friends, we know the love and conversation around our table is enriching us, even more than the food.

There is something wonderful about feeling in the right place, at the right time.
