BREAKFAST ON THE LAKE

This last weekend, we made a new friend. That's a very cool story in itself, but these photos of tell the story of the breakfast I had with Elize and Savannah (my friend and my new friend).

We jumped in the car early on Sunday morning, and drove east out of town, and then north down a dirt road. As we got closer the glimmer of the lake shone between the trees, and we noted to ourselves that pine tree and lakes aren't just in Canada.

The wind tried to stop us, but we managed to build a fire for warm tea, toast and eggs. Knowing we'd made it ourselves was half the fun, as we ate breakfast, chatted and watched the water sparkle in the morning light.

Its intriguing when I think of how cooking and eating like this is how people used to live.
