23/52 : JOHN

This is my Dad, he is one of my most favourite people in all the world.

When I was growing up, counting sheep wasn't the cure for no sleep in our household. I'd soon get bored of hanging upside down off my bed, imagining what life would be like if we walked around on the ceiling, and I'd call out to Dad for a story.
I mostly wanted to hear about the things he did when he was growing up, climbing fences to play in an army training ground, playing football, exploring with the neighbourhood kids, playing tricks or going to the beach.
Then I'd sink off into sleep with dreams and hopes that my life could be as cool as my Dad's. Dad taught me how to imagine, and take my mind into other places - mostly to the ocean, with an ice cream in my hand, but when you have a dream its the first step towards making a moment a reality.

Thanks for all the cool things you've taught me Dad, if I had a dollar for everything, I'd be as rich in money as I am in all the love and wisdom you've given me.
